What is DAF Day?
DAF Day is a celebration of philanthropy facilitated through Donor-Advised Funds. These funds offer a flexible and tax-efficient way for donors to support charities. By setting up a DAF, donors can make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants from the fund over time.
Why October 10?
The choice of October 10 is not random. The selection of the 10th day of the 10th month symbolizes the importance of giving 10/10—being the best version of a philanthropist you can be. This day emphasizes the value of planned giving, encouraging individuals to think strategically about their charitable contributions.
How to Participate in DAF Day 2024
Charities with DAFpay enabled as a payment method allow donors to give from their DAF account in just three clicks. UI Charitable is proud to have joined the DAFpay movement.
Another unique method of giving is made possible through UI Charitable’s partnership with Unchained. Donors can contribute bitcoin directly to their DAF, securely store it in a multisig vault, and, when ready, send bitcoin directly from the DAF to the non-profits of their choice—without needing to convert it to and from US dollars during the process. This is one of the first DAF offerings that enables contributions, custody, and giving all in bitcoin.
